Research interest
am leading two research groups at Khyber Medical University Pakistan and Zarqa University Jordan. My research interests include role of microbiome (oral and gut microbiome) in human health, diseases (Oral cancer, Tuberculosis) and conditions (malnutrition such stunting, wasting, overweight and obesity). My research also focusses on impact of dietary intake and tobacco use on oral microbiome and health.

My research interests focus on understanding and managing infectious diseases through key areas including antimicrobial resistance, pathogenesis, diagnostic microbiology, infection control, vaccine development, global health, the One Health approach, genomics, microbial ecology, and translational research. I investigate resistance mechanisms, host-pathogen interactions, rapid diagnostics, and novel therapeutics, while also emphasizing surveillance, prevention strategies, and the development of effective vaccines. Additionally, I study emerging pathogens, zoonotic infections, and the impact of the environment on disease spread. My goal is to advance infectious disease knowledge, improve diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, and develop effective prevention measures to enhance global public health.
