This project aims at figuring out the academic libraries’ response to the Covid-19 epidemic in Jordan, comparing academic libraries' performance against specified benchmarks in external-peer libraries to analyse vulnerability and find chances and gaps to improve. The benchmarks might be comparing collections, information services, processes, and policies. In this investigation, qualitative as well as quantitative strategies will be used. This project will also showcase an analytical investigation by means of benchmarking and comparison across the study sample. Points of reference in both samples will be measured using a survey questionnaire. The information gathered from the interviews will be analysed using content analysis.
The selection process will be completely random. Collections, information services, procedures, and policies will all be compared to those of similar institutions worldwide. The theoretical significance of our study lies in its novelty; no studies have been conducted on this issue in Jordan, and owing to the multidisciplinary nature of the subject at hand, few studies have been conducted on it throughout the Arab world. The current issue will also be open for exploration and study in the future in other Arab nations. If the study's findings and suggestions are implemented, it will be of considerable use to stakeholders, libraries, and scholars. Through a series of training courses and seminars, librarians and library science students will gain expertise that will improve the quality of information services provided by academic libraries, allowing them to meet the needs of their patrons.
